Is there a difference b/w the 40gb 60gb and 80gb PS3?

i don't care about the hardrive size at all but i read online that there's different processors in them? which has the most powerful
 
the PS3 is the only one of the 3 which is backwards compatible, so if you intend to be able to use the system with any PS or PS2 games I would suggest that the 80gb would be the way to go.
