like limewire? I have BitComet on my desktop computer that I usually use to download songs but that computer has a virus and won't let me get on the internet. That means I can't even use the Itunes store. I dont have itunes on my laptop so i cant get songs that way. I'm getting really bored with my ipod and i need to download like 7 songs but i dont want to download limewire. Is there any safe sites I can use?

Get your unit repaired.
Virus will just keep on messing up your unit further and further.

Scareware Fake AV is setting the proxy to not allow any internet browsing except to their site?

You can use Audacity:

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq?s=recording&i=streaming

But it's not straightforward to set up depending on your sound card and also needs the Lame plug in installed.

It's possible to capture CD quality audio from sites like Spotify and convert to mp3 or other formats. No viruses - guaranteed.

There's a fairly good "how to" guide here: http://www.pcworld.com/article/204664/how_to_record_streaming_audio.html

You don't need the cable mentioned if you have a sound card where the "stereo mix" option can be enabled.
