Install software that came with your phone. Or search google for your phone type and download pc studio for example.
Turn on phone insert cable and plug into computer with XP or Vista installed.
The computer should recognize your phone and load the program if not scroll down the list and select Open Folder if a window pops up that recognizes your device(the phone).
Now you can browse your phone for pictures etc
