Israel Blockades Lebanon

Because they cannot?

The same reason people don't turn in gangs here in the U.S but to a greater extent as Hezbollah is arguable just as powerful as the Lebanese government.

Anyone turning in Hezbollah would first have to find someone to turn them into, seeing as the Lebanese government cannot do anything and then get out of Lebanon so they don't get killed.

My problem is not with Israel going after Hezbollah, but Israel's killing of innocents, destruction of Lebanons infrastructure(you can bet Israel will not pay for it as the U.S is in Iraq) and overall destruction of a country.

Because we all know that applies only in the Middle East...Oh wait, it happens all around the world and can be seen everyday in America by some of the most prominent people in the country.

It been mentioned a million times in three long thread who has killed more innocents. And it always seems to be in response to the other side.

Why is there another thread on this? Could we not just have had one long thread on the Israeli Palestinian conflict? Nothing NEW is being said here that has not been said a million times before. in the other threads.

Yes Hezbollah or Hamas attacks, Isreal overattacks killing more civilians than the initial attack caused. Yeah got it! thanks!

I'm surprised Katyushas are still around after all these years.. you'd think they'd upgrade to BM-21's or the BM-24's by now... WW2 weapons still haunting the world... not surprising considering the Russians still mothball T-34s and the 85mm ammo to go with them.

(that was my super off-topic post for the day)

Too true, I guess I post in these types of threads in hopes that my will eventually get results...now that you point out the futility of doing so I guess I will stop.

Interestingly enough, you have no clue about the use of military weapons. The rockets they fire are not designed to be precision weapons, but they can be used in a way that does target military targets rather than civilian ones.

Once again, please learn some history. The Jews have been there since Biblical times. The land was not taken from the Palestinians. It was taken from the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Empire had both Palestinians and Jews living in the area. To claim that only the Palestinians have a legitimate claim is sheer ignorance. Britain owned the land. Britain could decide what to do with it. Britain did so and did so with the approval of the UN.

So you are saying, let the criminal terrorists do what they please because it is just too hard to curtail a bunch of terrorists that are bent on the destruction of Israel. If they try to do anything against the terrorists, they know they will get killed. Does that pretty much sum it up?

But why do the Israeli's have a right to a nation but the Palestinians dont? That is why the 2 state solution is the only way forward. I agree there are hardline Hamas members who dont want to see that happen, but it is the only way to stabilise the region. Well that, and convincing Israel that invading Lebanon at the drop of a hat isn't the way to break the back of a fundamentalist muslim organisation.

Yeah, you know, no one would ever use any type of military ammo, weapon, or even design of a weapon from that time era.

I guess I better get rid of .357 Magnums since they were developed in the 1930's. Or .50 caliber weapons which are the mainstay of today.

There were better options available to Israel than a full scale offensive. Perhaps helping the Lebanese government (who are not in favour of Hezbollahs actions) to patrol the border, or calling in a UN peacekeeping force, but to attack Beirut which is nowhere near the trouble spots is just galvanising Hezbollahs agenda and playing into the hands of the Iranians and the Syrians. I'd be interested in seeing if France do send their military to evacuate their citizens, because if Israel take a potshot (accidentally or not) at a French Aircraft/Ship/Citizen, they might find themselves escalating the crisis further still.

You know, the problem is that Israel and the Israel supporters are the only ones that have traditionally supported having a two state approach. When the referendum actually had a chance to approve such a measure, Hamas started this nonsense.

I think his point was that there are more effective weapons on the market, but personally I think those rockets are doing a pretty decent job, even if I dont agree with their use.

most of Hamas are in favour of the two state approach, unfortunately the few are screwing it up for the many yet again. I say let the Palestinian people decide.

Ever heared of a man named NOSTRADAMUS.

Yep, they are effective. My point was that just because something is a little older, doesn't mean it isn't effective. We really had pretty good weapons by the time of WWII.

I would definitely agree with letting the people decide. I think the majority on both sides want the killing to stop and to just live their lives.
