thoroughbred for my Bday.? I live on a large horse farm in a big area of land with a massive house with an arena and fields. We have loads of horses and me and mum and my sister love riding and do show jumping x country and drag hunting. My mum on my twelve birthday got me a big 17hh horse thorouyghbred and she is a fantastic jumping horse and she can jump 5ft and gallop long distance with me. But I am really nervouse that because she is such a delecate breed she might injure herself really easily in the drag hunting. On the coarse there is a really worrying 4ft6 obsticle and what if she trips or hurts herself on the trails. What should I be thinking?

But really, TB's arn't that delicate. Like Arabians, they might look it but are pretty tough. If she's been trained to jump 5 feet, then a 4 foot 6 jump isn't going to be a problem. If your still nervous, get your mom or an experianced rider to ride her first. I could do it for you =) haha just kidding.

But don't worry about her. You can put some splint boots on her that will protect her legs also. Just after every workout or competition, check her for cut or bumps.
