Itunes on Motorola SLVR L7?

I have a Motorola SLVR L7 with Itunes on it, how do I get songs from Itunes to my Phone? Nothing happens when I connect it to the USB Port, unless I have Moto Phone Tools open too. But when that happens it just says something else is trying to connect to my phone. (Which is probably Phone Tools it's talking about.) Please help..
