Will a Mini audio to RCA cable be sufficient to connect a IPOD Touch to my Yamaha Home Theater system?

This is the guy i'm talkin' 'bout: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9222352&type=product&id=1218062425208

I need to play songs from my IPOD Touch through my Yamaha Home theater system for a party! My home theater system has stereo(red/white), coaxial audio and optical audio inputs. The cable i mentioned should work...yes?

Yes you can play sound from you IPod using that without any problem at all.
You just won't be able to have remote volume control or playlist control that a docking station provides.
Also be aware the some songs may be encoded at a much higher volume and your audio may become suddenly loud or quiet because of this.

I used before at the beginning of having my iPod Classic, it works but they say is not recommended for long periods, is better to use a docking station, do you have a PS3? You can put your music in a PS3 from iPod and from CD`s too, with art work too.I `m using a PS3 now but I got a good dock, Tekkeon, it plays video too but not HD quality, video is crap, but for music is very good, it comes with on screen navigation for your TV and if you have the lyrics you`ll see them too on your TV screen, around $100.00 Amazon.com, comes with remote control too.
It wont charge either, that way you want.

Yep. That's the sort of cable I use with my iPhone and it works quite well. But I paid around $3.50 (shipped) for a better quality cable on monoprice.com.

It's much cheaper than buying a docking station, although you can't control the iPod with a remote like you could with a docking station.
