Just bought a 68 firebird, and it has rust on the front floor boards and the trunk. It's all still very solid with no holes, I'm just wondering how much it would cost to fix this. I love muscle cars, but I don't have any experience working with them. What needs to be done? Do I just replace the floorboards, or is there something I can do to fix it? All help will be greatly appreciated.

If you get a hold of
'year one" they have replacement floor pans or any thing else you might need. year one1- 800-932-7663. "k"

Are they rusted all the way through? If its surface rust and you are on a budget you might be able to work on it yourself. Remove the seats and carpeting, get some good sandpaper, maybe a electric sander. Sand the rusted area very good, clean it up real nice then use a high quality primer and paint on it. This will help save you some time and money-help it last longer.
Now if its rusted all the way through you might need to get them replaced which can get quite expensive.

Cool car. While I am not an expert, I know that you will have to remove all of the rusted portions of the floor boards and either replace them or have some fabrication done to replace them. Wish I could help you more. Rust to a car is like cancer to us - you have to excise all of it or it comes back.
