just wondering your thoughts and what you know about them.
Also if there is a way to disable the PTT button or remove it so that it can't be bumped and activated thank you

I've had three now. First one worked great but the purple color started flaking off of the front cover. Once you scratch the finish over the camera, even micro-scratches, the thing's worthless for photos- this happens within the first week so get a cover that protects the camera area (raised edged sticker around the lens area might be just enough) or a case that has a soft lining- like I said even denim fabric can scratch the lens enough to foul the camera image.
I detest the charger port and charger - very flimsy connection and gets loose over time. Guard that little connection! Also when charging sometimes the phone thinks it is connected to a data or music sync cable so be wary.

As for the actual operations of the phone it was a nice one to work with. Not too heavy, decent battery time (I am a text-a-holic and web browsing fanatic). It connects pretty well even in rural areas. Buttons are finger-friendly. One drawback I found was in setting permissions for certain after-market programs on the phone (opera mini, gmail) because if the program is not signed, you have to give permissions for every inbound and outbound packet of information. My Sony Ericsson phone didn't care about signatures.
Another minor fault with this phone is the text message alert tone is limited to ONLY what the phone comes with- no setting your own silly donkey cry or baby giggle or whatever (I wanted a fire truck or air horn). There may be a way but not without cracking into the phone's programming, which I'm not about to do.

I'm happy enough with this phone that I'm not planning on upgrading just yet, even though I'm eligible. I did one insurance replacement (somehow, it stopped recognizing the sim and the sim checked out fine) after 1.5 years, and the refurbished replacement came in with some weird issue of its own (buttons didn't 'click' properly, and it started losing the ability to connect even with full bars showing.)

I've had Nokia, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson in the past. The Samsung(s) I had were more durable, they were put through serious abuse (dropped, kicked, soaked, sand-logged, you name it!) and still operated. The Sony Ericsson was the most personalized with all sorts of themes and tone options. The Nokias were basic brick phones (1992-1999) so I can't really compare them to the current competition. I've had two LG models and will probably wind up with another in the future. This one is for now 'ok' and will be worth hanging onto, but if I had to choose from what's currently available I would not pick this one. I'd be more inclined to get one with a protected camera area and text tone options.
Hopefully this third cu515 I have will hang on till I can save up and buy an unlocked phone that has more of the features I want.
