Lg kp500 touch screen not working! Help please?!?

I was texting my boyfriend and suddenly the touch screen is completley unresponsive. What can I do? I can't afford another phone, and I certainly cannot wait until Christmas. I spent all my money on straightners 4 days ago because they broke. I've seriously got bad luck this week :'(
 
someone suggested bending the phone GENTLY with the screen facing upwards. From the response, i suppose it works for some- not for me tho :c

i had the same problem < it did work well after bending it gently, thank for the help'
