...were straight? My dad did. He is obviously straight, but he had some gay friends and one day he made me meet them and said, "Son, these here are gay people. Sometimes people aren't attracted to the opposite sex."

It was a boring lecture for me because I already knew it all (I'm gay).

umm why did he have to give the lecture right there in front of them and say "son these are gay people" ROFL thats weird.
 
My parents always knew hell they pretty much set me up with a guy and told me they knew.
 
lol...like a science experiment? Well, at least he's open to alternative lifestyles. It was his way of teaching you about tolerance. Better than the opposite.
 
well i couldn't really avoid being introduced to my uncle.
but in relation to your question i don't think my parents have ever really spoken to me about homosexuality, i know that they're very liberal and open minded people.
 
no. not like that. Mike and Dale owned the barber shop and beauty shop in town (respectfully). they lived down the street from me and grew up with my step monster. i didn't know they were gay or even a couple (together almost 50 yrs - btw), until my step monster told me when i was 16.
