...apocalyptic world with others he finds? I read a series of books when I was in Jr. High about a boy who was put in suspended animation by his father, a scientist, to survive a nuclear war. He is woken up by his father around seventy years later (he doesn't know it is his father until later) and is taught how to use old conventional weapons such as a bow, sword and such. In the post apocalyptic world, guns and weapons of mass destruction are outlawed. Later in the book, he finds other children that were put in suspended animation like him and they journey around the world solving mysteries and such. I remember one of the books has them meeting a society of people that live on top of a mesa where they are able to fly by means of attaching light weight wings to thier bodies and fly like birds. I remember that one boy really missed Dr. Pepper, and talked about it a lot. If anyone knows who the author was or what the series is called, please let me know. I would like to read them again.
I figured it out! The series is called "The Seven Sleepers Series" by Gilbert Morris.
