Mercedes Benz 500 SEC, collector's car?

Do you guys think that the 80's Mercedes Salloon will ever have a following in the collectors market, I have a 1982 AMG 500SEC and don't know whether to restore it, needs rear diff, transmission, some electric work, paint, and front chin spoiler. I think I might be best off parting it out, cause some of the AMG parts on it, suspension, brake balancer, and wheels are hard to come by, but also hard to sell, just looking for advice.

Although relatively rare, the C126 body likely won't be a collector's item any time soon. I occasionally see late 80's 560SEC for sale in my area but they don't go for very much money.
