motorola milestone att?

I want to get the droid but i hav att and i dont want to switch to verizon because its expensive. I was wondering if i can get the unlocked gsm motrola milestone and just put the att sim card in it. I have unlimited data and messaging and a voice plan. Also is there anything else I should know about the motorola milestone.
