My 1972 GMC 4x4 automatic truck will not go forward, only in reverse.?

I haven't driven it in a couple months and went to drive it yesterday. It would barely creep forward. I checked the transmission fluid and it was dry. (no sign of leak) I filled it up and now it won't go forward at all, only in reverse.
