the past week.? a couple times a day she complains that it hurts and every night she wakes up in the middle of the night with it hurting also. i was thinking that maybe it was gas. i bought her some gas drops and they seem to be working, but will she have to always take this or will work its way out??
could she just all of sudden become lactose intolerent?

I would say first off, check for lactose intolerance or Celiac's disease. Celiac's disease causes strange abdominal symptoms in kids, such as gas, but is poorly understood in the medical community, so you may have to specifically ask them to test for it or your doc may not think of it. Celiac's is an inability to digest wheat gluten, and people who have it have to follow a gluten free diet for the rest of their lives.

She also may have other food allergies.

Other more serious stomach issues can present with simple symptoms such as gas. Or it could be a prolonged reaction to something she ate that's taking a few days to work itself out - but a week is going on a bit long. I'd get it checked out.

Have you considered a food allergy such as lactose intolerance?
Does she experience anxiety, stress, trauma, or headaches? Children can get what's called an "abdominal migraine", check it on google or WebMD.
