My dad hates hiking + camping, but I love it. What should I do?

I love going camping and hunting and survival and all that sort of stuff, but my dad always complains about getting all rheumatic (can't blame him cause he's 6'7" or 2m and that weight must make you hell stiff in the back and knees). The most adventurous thing he has ever done is gone out onto the beach with my sister and her friends and their fathers and they camped at the beach (on soft grass with sleeping bags on air mattresses and he still complained about being all stiff-jointed in the morning). I finally convinced him to let me show him how fun real survival camping is (and am planning to show him how fun hunting is, if he'll even let me hunt) but need some advice for what to do on the camp to make it a great survival experience where he can take an example from next time I say "hey dad, can we go camping"
My dad is 6 foot 7 inches, not 67 years old >.<

Your dad at age 67 is prone to aches and pains without the aggravation of sleeping out. I just turned 58 and have been backpacking and camping a lot throughout my life. In the last few years I've had to pay a little more attention to my comfort at night. For your dad to begin doing this at his age is a lot to expect.

i guess you could just try and make it as fun and comfortable for him as possible, like relate it to things that he likes and make it a good father+son experience so that he remembers the good times you had and won't mind doing it again. Just remember to link it to things he likes to keep his mind of the pain and keep the conversation going. If there is no-way that he is going to come round to the idea then you probably just have to either find something halfway between both of your preferences and compromise on another activity, or find someone else to go and do this camping and survival things with. just don't stop spending time with your dad because of it, family's more important than anything.
