anything he can do to fix pixelation? I know the problem is probably that the TV is 1920x1080, and a normal DVD outputs at 720x480 (if I have that right), so I told him that his best option is to try and get a DVD Player with an HDMI out, and Up-Conversion, and see if that's any better for him. Other than that, the only thing he could do was "shrink" or "zoom-out" the picture using either his TV or DVD Player, to make it take up less of the TV and have black bars on the left/right/top/bottom.
Was that the right thing to tell him, or is there another option? Those are really the only things I could think of for the problem. The only other solution, which is rather expensive, would be to get a Blu-Ray player, and purchase his movies/tv shows on Blu-Ray, but I didn't mention that because I'm pretty positive that's more than what he'd want to pay.
So, is a DVD Player with 1080p Up-Conversion the best choice? And to connect it with an HDMI cable? And are the any options you need to choose when you put your DVD's in, or will it automatically upconvert them for you?
Thanks!
