I have a friend and we have been really nice friends since the sixth grade. One day me and my other pals were playing around and I just told him that we had replaced him with someone else, but I told him that I that we we're just joking with him. At first everything was normal, but then he started acting weard only to me. Before I knew it he just started ignoring me. It's been like this for about 3 weeks, and I've already apologized to him a bunch of times but still nothing. What should I do next

Rejection is more hurtful than any joke gone wrong. Tell him you were kidding and that nobody can replace him. People long to be liked, and when someone tells you that you have been replaced, it often feels like betrayal.

he might be sensitive or insecure about your friendship. Alternatively, he might be going through something else, you never know. just let him know ur there for him

You have to be diligent about regaining his trust. Be there for him, even if he lashes out. Don't push him, but don't give him too much space. He might have experienced a traumatic event in his life (i.e. Abandonment, betrayal, loss, etc.) and maybe your joke triggered him to relive this. Eventually though, you'll just have to give up on mending your friendship and allow the pieces to fall where they may. He may eventually just come to you…hopefully.
