My home theater system reciever shuts of then it says protect can somebody tell

It is being used with more power than it can handle or your wiring connection to the speakers are shorted. Check all the wires on the speakers to make sure they are not touching each other. Home Theater in a box are cheap and they don't really provide enough power compare to a receiver. Hope this will help you out.

Check the speaker wiring. Maybe there is a short. It shuts off to protect itself.

yeah agree check speaker wiring first you might have caught wiring with cleat etc or simply got damaged and causing short pull out one by one from cinema unit until fault is clear to find culprit or if it is not this your power supply in unit is failing
