...plugged in to turn over. ? Spouse is deployed and I don't drive his truck. How long does it need to be plugged in before starting?? Also does it need to be started all the time or plugged in all the time. Will something happen to it if it freezes and then thaws out? 1st winter in Alaska and have no idea. Thanks
 
By plugged in do you mean a battery starter? I would keep it charged for at least six hours before using it, maybe even overnight.

As for freezing, if you're speaking of a charger, keep it indoors (like a garage or basement). If you're speaking of the truck itself, you should start it at least three times a week. When not using a vehicle in extremely cold weather, there is a chance the engine block can crack.
