My Nintendo DSi connects to the internet, why won't my Pokemon Platinum game connect?

I have a NETGEAR router, and in the "Connection Settings" menu (on the "Nintendo WFC connection settings" option) It finds the router, but it says it's locked and needs a WEP key. I have no idea what that is...? PLEASE HELP! No rude comments, please.
