My Parkard Bell computer starts but woen't show the task bar. Windows loads etc HELP?

Computer (laptop) starts as usual, asks for user to log on shows welcome screen then goes to Packard Bell walpaper. No task bar. If I go into task manager I can get Microsoft word etc but no task bar??
 
Launch the taskmanager, click on new task, and find explorer.exe. This is the windows desktop program and its shows the taskbar and icons.

I had a problem last year that caused explorer to crash sometimes on startup and this was how I got around it.
 
Your task bar may just be hidden. Move your mouse slowly to the bottom of your screen, your task bar may show up. If it does, Right Click on the task bar, and select properties. There is an option to keep the task bar on top(you want that one checked), and one about hiding the task bar(you want that one UN checked) If the task bar does not show up at the bottom, repeat the steps about, but try the top, left and right sides of your screen.

Another possibility is that the task bar has been "shrunk" You can re-size the task bar in most versions of Windows. Look around the edges of your screen for a thin bar(that would be your task bar shrunk down) Click and hold on that bar, and drag it SLOWLY away from the edge of the screen(maybe half an inch) If it was "shrunk" you should see your start button, icons and stuff. release the mouse button, and your task bar is back.
