... nah i don't do all that stuff together ... i know running torrents would slow down the web .. i'm talking about individually, one thing at a time

my only guess would be that their servers are bogged down, but that doesn't seem to make much sense with all the money they make
 
From experience. I believe that with all the traffic going through when your downloading bittorents, irc, etc, your internet connectivity suffers. Only resolution is to go to your settings in your bittorent download and set limitations on how many you can upload or download. Good luck
