Need advice about New England Hiking trips:?

I am trying to figure out 2 things right now, and hopefully someone can help me out with them.

First off: What is the easiest / least dangerous hiking path to reach the summit of Mt. Washington and how much time should I allow for a round trip? What kind of dangers should I expect on this trip? I am planning on being dressed accordingly and carrying more provisions than I think I could possibly need (2 gallons of water for what I expect to be a 6 hour trip, and 3 meals each for 2 people. I am trained in EMT procedures, and we have 2 satellite phones that are GPS enabled, is there any local wildlife / fauna which is particularly dangerous?

2.
There is a park somewhere in the Northeast and I cannot for the LIFE of me remember it's name. It's either in NH / Mass / VT or NY. The park has a long series of wooden walkways that lead into granite caves. The walls are fairly high at some points. I remember that the wooden walkway was about 1 mile or two long. I think that it's in NH. What is the name of this place and where is it?

Thanks a lot!
