...4L60E? I have got a 1994 GMC Pickup that has had a TH-400 installed to replace the factory 4L60 E transmission . I did not install this trans , I just got this truck in trade for my old Ford Truck plus some cash. This trans is new and still looks new it was put in a couple of months along with a B&M Truck Mega shifter installed to replace the column shift.
The problem is that I know absolutely nothing about GM vehicles, not the only problem but it doesn't help.
It will not shift out of first gear, the guy I got it from says it will shift at higher RPM but I haven't tried because I didn't want to risk burning up the trans. I have talked to some people and they say it sounds like that a module or a band is to tight and needs some adjustment. What do you think? What could be wrong? Even if I pull it down into 1st and try to shift it manually it still won't shift.
I am a pretty good mechanic so please don't talk to me like I'm some dumb kid please, I just don't know a whole lot about GM transmissions and just need tips and hints on what this may be.
Also the speedometer does not work, is this connection different from the the factory 4L60E ? How can I make this work , what would I need to make it work, can I do this adjustment myself.
