Need help finding a backpack for day hikes?

hi I'm trying to find a backpack/rucksack for day hikes etc.I'd be using it often and I mean OFTEN so I'm looking for something that's not synthetic that looks better as it ages like a quality durable leather or something. My friend said there called woodsman backpacks but I haven't found anything from searching it. Its kinda like something you see hunters have on movies based in the 1700s. Is there anything I can search for backpacks like this?

Mountain man rendezvous have folks that make and sell period clothing and packs like what your looking for however they don't have the comfort or function that modern equipment has. They may look cool but 10-20 miles up the hill you will wish you had the right gear.
