for best answer!)? Alright, need some help coming up with names for characters for a story I'm writing.

1. Male, early/mid twenties. Above average intelligence, average looks, is a journalist. Athletic/average build. Is both funny and serious. European or Scandinavian in heritage.

2. Male, early/mid twenties. Friends with Character 1. More boorish, outspoken, and light hearted. European heritage. Heftier than main character but not overly large

3. Female, mid twenties. The "it" girl, nothing too outlandish with the name though. Maybe a 'kitschy' first name/first and middle name combo.

Thanks!!

Hmm - a little plot would help. Ummm - trying to sort of give indicators of character and import to story etc...have you ever noticed the sorts of names that come up in say '24' sometimes? They are evocative of some part of American history and thus provide a subliminal (nearly) impact on the viewer.

How would - e.g President Ruben Carter go?

Sven (Steve) Halberdsen - a halberd is a long handled axe weapon with a spike on the other side of the axe head. Not inappropriate for a journalist....

You are looking for a Porthos here - down-to earth, Earth type. A French name perhaps - German -
Gustav (Gus) Beckerman - umm a becker is a container - Gus contains all sorts of things including a fridge too far.....jolly fellow, not necessarily boorish, but warm and open???? Sort of an easy-going southern German type as opposed to the stiff Prussian......good for a laugh over a stein or two...or as a strong guy to back you up without asking too many questions except friendship...

Sally-Anne (yuk) Fenster (just call me Anne, PLEASE! - not Sally or Sally-Anne!).

(rolls it off tongue for a moment )...Anne Fenster - yup - that'll do - but SALLY-Anne Fenster...aaaaaah! could develop a little conflict there over a bit of rib-poking....

"Your REAL name is .(yuk, yuk)..Sally? Sally-Anne?" Yuk, yuk.....
