hey, so i purchased a nokia n8 at the start of this year, (jan 2011) and everything has been running beautifully. i now just would really like to delete everything and restore my n8 to 'manufacturer settings.' i have tried entering that ' *# ' code in to my dial pad and i have also tried going in to
"Settings > Phone > Phone Management > Factory Settings > Delete Data & Restore"
but with both options, my phone has asked me to enter a Lock Code. i actually don't have any codes active on my N8 but when i go into 'Phone and SIM Card' settings and select 'Lock Code', it prompts me to enter my lock code (which doesn't exist as of yet).
i did previously have a lock code on my n8 which i had forgotten. i called a nokia assistant and he asked me a 'security question' then gave me a code which basically 'deleted' the fogotten code so my phone was fine after that.
this morning i called a Nokia assistant explaining my situation and he told me that the only way i could reset my phone was by entering the 'lock code' WHICH DOESN'T ACTUALLY EXIST!!! Help ?!?!?!?
> > > > to NANCY BEE: yes! i did also try that code but a screen with 'CODE ERROR' came up.
