Need some non-denominational Christian Advice?

I am a non-denominational christian and I have a friend who is a Seventh-Day Adventist,
he has offered me to read a book by Ellen G White one of his prophets
I dont wan to be rude to him but I want to explain to him I dont beleive in any other prophets other than the ones mentioned in the Bible

Can someone give some unbiased information about Ellen G White
and if I should stay away from my friends advise about Christianity

It compares what Adventists believe with what the Bible says; you'll see that the two differ.

The Bible is clear that a prophet must be right, 100% of the time, or they're not a prophet of God. What's more, Biblical prophets are usually Jewish, prophesy from Israel, and prophesy about God's kingdom. They also predict short-term future events so that we can trust their long-term predictions.

Under these basic rules for prophecy, Ellen G. White is not a prophet.

Also, check this site out. It's ugly, but contains lots of good information, comparing the statements of White with scripture.

Reading the book does not mean you believe in anything other than intellectual curiosity. Open your mind if for no other reason than to understand where your friend is coming from.

check out latterdays.blogspot.com. They have some good info on that religion. Also Blue letter bible has good info on different cults.
