Actually only about half of the power in the us comes from coal. And even if you assume you're powering your leaf with pure coal, you're still producing less carbon emissions because of efficiency, and that's not even calculating the cost of refinement and transport of the gasoline which you don't have with electricity, especially if you charge at night, when there is wasted capacity anyway. And that's a whole nother can of worms there.

The leaf doesn't HAVE to be powered by fossil fuels. Alternatives are one of the fastest growing industries in the world. Actually, creating a demand for alternative energy will help create tens of thousands of new jobs, and there's noting wrong with that.

Get a clue.

Watch some other news, that isn't faux news.
