T TVguy Member Oct 18, 2011 #2 There are two problems a) Video standards- usually NTSC (North America) vs PAL/SECAM (rest of the world) b) Region coding So, unless in NZ, you have a Region-free, universal DVD player, I wouldn't buy a DVD from the US .
