ok i got a 93 nissan sunny for messing about in and the head gasket burnt out! now i looked at the engine and it has a 1.6 twin cam petrol engine! now on the tax book it is a 1.4l lx.... so how do i find out what engine is actually in it or what car is the engine from so i can get a head gasket??? now who will step up to answer that???
i dont care if it stolen or not cuz its just a field car

You have a couple of problems biggest one being that your log book is illegal. If you can find the engine number on the engine use that to order your parts. If you find an area on the engine that has been ground smooth, suspect engine stolen & engine number ground off.
Good Luck.

Just get the engine number and that will let you locate all parts relative to the engine only and not the car.
If there is no engine number on then a Nissan mechanic will soon tell you which engine it is by looking at it.
You could always remove the head and take the gasket for matching up at a parts supplier. Simple really.
The other point here is that your insurance will be void if the car has a bigger engine in than the one it is insured for. Risky !

some one in the past has put a 1.6 in there so i would go for the 1.6 just tell the shop what you told us or take in the old head gasket they should no
