Yeah, but if you later decide you made a mistake and want back in you can forget it because it will be on your record that you was discharged for homosexuality. Also, considering that you're not the first one to think of trying to fake homosexuality to get out of deploying your leadership may be wise to the practice and know you're faking. Don't be surprised if they tell you to prove it. You may end up facing punishment under the UCMJ instead for lying. If you're already trying to think of ways to get out of deploying then you probably made a mistake joining and should tell your recruiter you don't want to join anymore. Besides, it's not like you're going to be handed a rifle and have to do Omaha Beach all over again, there are places overseas that are very laid back (Balad in Iraq had a swimming pool on it).

You can try to be discharged from the Air Force under don't ask, don't tell.

You wouldn't be the first person that's tried to use the "I'm just gonna say I'm gay" card to get out of duty.

Honestly, it takes a lot of pushing the issue to get kicked out under don't ask, don't tell nowadays. You'd be better off telling the truth, "I'm selfish and don't like being deployed. Send me home because I'm not mature enough to understand that service to my country isn't about doing whatever service is most comfortable for me."

sounds good, another good way if your a girl is to get knocked up, i don't think they can deploy you when your prego, I'm sure brb or de-facto would be more than willing to help you out with that one

What do you mean you "just joined"? If you are in DEP, you are not an Airman, nor are you in the Air Force. Your official paperwork to be in the military doesn't happen until the day before you ship to BMT. You are a "recruit" right now, then will be a "trainee" in BMT, and upon successful completion of BMT you will be given an Airman's coin and the label "Airman."

And no, you can not say you are a lesbian to get out of a deployment. If you go through with this action you will be court-martialed and hit with the UCMJ under an Article. You will also be discharged from the Air Force all together.

If you don't like the idea of spending 6 months away from home, tell your recruiter now before anything is official.

If you are worried about not getting deployed, why in the heck did you join the Air force! It is not a matter of if, it is a matter when.

Seriously that is the most immature thing I have ever heard. And pretending to be a lesbian will not get you kicked out. just saying you care gay will not get you kicked out. in fact it could get you in trouble.

If you actually joined you would know that you signed a document stating that you would not involve yourself in any homosexual activity.

i take it you have not gone to boot camp yet. you still can get out. you do not sign your contract until you go to meps to go to bootcamp.

Yes you can. You will be dishonorably discharged for fraudulent enlistment, and have a Felony record, but if that doesn't bother you, go ahead. You can also steal military equipment and sell it on the black market to achieve the same goal.
