I'm currently a freshman at a really hard catholic school, and have been trying to keep my grades up but it's hard for me. My grades are:
B+, C-, B-, B-, C-, C
No matter how hard I try I still end up with bad grades. For encouragement, my parents yell at me and tell me I'm a joke, that I'm a huge disappointment to them. Oh, and If I get a C I'm out of the school. I have until october 1st to bring them up. What can I do to show them off?

Don't let opinions dictate your future!

B's and C's are pretty good, and you're doing heaps better than all the people who don't even attend school.

Well I think that no one has considered that option that you may have a bit of a learning disability? I'm not saying this for sure and trying to make you upset, but if you're trying and nothing seems to be happening it could be the answer. I think you should talk to your parents and school about this idea together and get checked to see if that is the reason your grades are so poor. Maybe then your parents would give you a very well deserved apology, as well as the school.

Ok personally if you feel your doing the best you can dont get all stressed about your parents you can't go through life trying to plz ppl try to plz yourself. Set a goal for your grades and continuously work and work until you get them, take every piece of extra credit you can get, do all your homework, do all class work, pay alot of attention and study hard for all your tests n always ask for help whenever you need it this will not only help you but give u lots of respect from your teachers which will also help your grades. Don't worry about your parents right now just grades n as long as your doing the best you can and you know it don't listen to your parents cuz tht just brings more stress to you and you obviously don't need tht right now just do your best.

Yikes that's tough. At some point we've all been through that. I recently had a similar situation; i failed a chemistry final exam and if i didn't pass the make up i would have to repeat a year. It didn't help being pressured by the entire family or being told that i was a disappointment compared to my sister who is excellent at everything. I literally dug into my books and re-taught myself everything. Take notes on your notes and sometimes talking out loud helps (in my case it did). Try study with a friend or find a good tutor who can prepare quizzes and tests and explain what you don't understand. Also ask your teacher for previous exams and extra help- it helps a lot. They key is to practice everyday even if you get frustrated and want to stop. It helped me a lot and i got extremely high grades (from a D to an A). Good luck and believe in yourself :)

First do the silent treatment then the good grades. And when they see it they'll won't think your a joke
