The White Dove is not the same bird as the white homing pigeon. Though they are both white, the White Dove is a smaller bird. It does not fly straight for long distances but rather flutters about, and it does not have a highly developed homing instinct. White Doves are very popular and an excellent bird for a beginner They are actually a white variety of the Ringneck Dove though a bit more expensive, and they have all the good points of the Ringneck Doves. They are very easy to care for and have a very sweet gentle nature. They will do well in either a cage or in an aviary and can be kept as a single bird or as a pair. Once a White Dove is comfortable with its home and its family, It can be handled by adults and children alike.

White doves coo and sometimes will do so early in the morning. If you are planning to breed them, they are very easy to breed and need a lot of space for example a aivary.
A good name for a male dove would be:

The doves you're most likely talking about are the white ringneck doves (Streptopelia roseogrisea) once known as (Streptopelia risoria), which was/is an African species. They make great pets and have been domesticated for so long that they have almost lost their fear of everything. Which doesn't make them very good at survival in the wild should they escape. There have also been a lot of new colors added to the birds in the past thirty years as people have discovered and bred various mutations.

Here's the website for the American Dove Asso.

Normally only males really coo.

As for names? If Peace is a female, then why not go for Lover? Then you could say he's a Peace Lover? :-)

as far as i know doves make excellent pets.
how's about... Bliss? Happy? Kind?
yes females coo, especially if there's a mate
