Pokemon game question and Nintendo DS question?

Hello, I recently got into pokemon which made me decide to buy a ds and get the games and experience the pokelife myself, thought i am not sure which of all the ds to buy. Price is not a issue as i am going to buy a second-hand and they are all cheap. I heard that the 3ds easily hurts your eyes and people have putted glasses because of it? Is that true, should i take that in consideration and not buy a 3ds? So for a pokemon game which would you recommend ds lite,dsi/xl version, 3ds/xl version. Plus i heard that the gen6 is going to be on a 3ds so should i also take that in consider and get one now so it wont be needed to buy one later. ( I am not really into traveling a lot its school year so i am staying home most of the times from which i think a xl version would be better but still DSI or 3DS? ) thank you in advance! Now pokemon question, i am still in early seasons ( season 3 ) started watching a phew weeks ago and i dont want to spoil myself so will it be bad if when i get my ds to just right into the last versions pokemon black and white 2 or should i just follow my series and play the games that are for it which i think are the gem stone versions. And final thing i think to get the DS hacked and was wondering will i experience any lack of play from the pokemon games if i get thought some pirate site, lack slower speed or bugs which dont make me proceed do they have any % in having those kind of things?
