I downloaded a movie which came in .avi file format. At first, I could play it on the computer but only had sound so I downloaded a Gspot to target the problem which then I had to install Xvid codec program, which fixed the video issue and was able to watch the movie on the computer. Now, we use a conversion program called ISO Divx to DVD and the conversion outcome does not play on any dvd player we have after being burned. I installed Avi2DVD and it completed the conversion saying there was nothing wrong and there were no errors. I burned it and it played in the dvd player with no sound and there was only video for the first 2 minutes then it froze.

This is really starting to irritate me and I really need some advice on how to get this to work!!! HELP?!

Freemake Video converter is very good. I use it every time.

Personally, I never trust such programs to convert anything to DVD. I've used Nero to make a DVD from standard video files using Nero Vision settings. I've only done it a few times, but it's been flawless. So I would recommend getting a higher-end video to DVD converter. There are also several other free DVD converters available, but as I've never used them, I can't recommend any.
