question about a Motorola i880 phone/Boost Mobile?

I'm getting a Motorola i880 phone from someone and I'm wondering if the Boost Mobile $50 unlmited plan would work for it. the guy says that he's been using Boost Mobile on it so I guess it should work? I don't see why the unlimited plan wouldn't work if it's for Boost Mobile cause I heard only certain phones don't work for the unlimited plan.
thank you very much for your answer but.. if the person before me already has it setup for Boost Mobile and I already have a sim card then I could just go into a Boost Mobile store and get the $50 unlimited plan on it?

As long as that cell phone Motorola i880 works on the IDEN network and has a sim card slot then it should work. Also if that cell phone does not have a sim card then you would need to purchase a sim card kit. It will cost 19.99 for the sim card but it comes with a $10 credit for your monthly plan. You can get this sim card kit at

Or you can just visit any Radio Shack retail store and they should have sim cards for Boost Mobile.
