Question about memory in cell phone?

I plan on getting a new phone that has the capability to expand up to 32gb memory with an sd card, the main reason I need so much memory is for the 600+ songs I have, and I was wondering if that with all the music taking up the space on the memory, would the phone be slowed down (BlackBerry Curve), or function just fine.
