I just plugged my iTouch into my computer for the first time in MONTHS. It started doing all of the crazy backing up and syncing and what not, but I quickly cancelled it all. All I want to do is remove a few songs, but every time I try to sync one playlist, it starts doing a bunch of crazy stuff with the apps. When I try to uncheck "sync apps" it says all the apps will be deleted from my iTouch if they aren't synced. Is there a way to just remove a few songs without having to have all the apps changed and backed up and what not? It's kind of an urgent matter at the moment, 10 points for best answer!

If your Ok with having all your songs and stuff on your computer, right-click your iPod and then 'Transfer purchases'. The computer has to be authorized for you to do so, authorize it in 'Store(menu bar on top) - Authorize computer'. Then, when it's done transferring purchases, you can syns and everything that was on it will be left, except for the songs you want erased (uncheck them in the music tab on your iPod).

Um, sorry, but I'm pretty sure that all that stuff has to happen. Did u notice the words in the progress bar at the top that says "Do not disconnect"? I think u just have to let it happen. And when iTunes says that ur apps will be deleted from your iPod, i think it just means they'll be removed and still will be in your app library on iTunes (if they are there, if not, they probably will be if u let iTunes do all the backing up and syncing).
Sorry I can't do more, but I hope this helps!
God Bless
