Hello, I have a 1999 Camaro. It is straight piped with single in and dual out. It has not cat, no muffler, and headers as well. Before today I just had the piping sticking out the back. Today I went to the exhaust shop and they cut the bits at the end and added this rectangular tips to the back. They were chunky and flat and a few inches. The guy said that these are the ones used on V8 Chevy's.
My exhaust note doesn't seem as annoying loud as before, but a bit deeper like blowing on a tuba or into a hollow jar. Why would changing the tips change the exhaust note, I thought they were for looks?
