When your contracts ends and you plan on upgrading to another cell phone then yes once you purchase that phone you automatically renew your contract for 2 additional years. That is how cell phone companies make money. They give you a discount off new phones in return you agree to another 2 years of service with them. If you break the contract then you will pay a early termination fee.
