question abouthooking up aftermarket stereo to2004 honda civic?

i tried hooking up my aftermarket stereo to my 2004 civic, i thought i hooked it up right, and then i started to drive like an hr later and there was smoke comin outta the dash, and my dash lights were not working, any ideas?

you did something wrong
and smoke coming out is a very bad sign
i would take it out and check everything you did
check the ground and power wires
