Hello. So I recently bought a fairly expensive used leather saddle in the fall for my 5 year old gelding. it fit him then, but I guess he grew over the winter because now it is to small. I wouldn't say to small in the pommel because I can fit three fingers between his withers and the pommel; but its tight on the sides beside the pommel. (I'm not sure what that would be called). Every time I ride him, I put the saddle in place properly. But by the end of my ride, the saddle as slid back quite a bit. But during my ride, my horse does not show any obvious sign of discomfort.
There is a wintec pro all purpose saddle for sale. I am basically just wondering what the pros and cons are for a wintec saddle and a leather saddle. Why are the leather saddles more expensive? Is a wintec saddle guaranteed to fit any type of house with the gullet change system ? If you have or have had a wintec saddle what did you like/not like about it? why ?
