recommendations for good camping/hiking trip for spring break in the midwest?

so my friends and i are interested in going on a camping/hiking trip for spring break this year. we're from iowa and we were thinking about south dakota (1st choice) or anywhere not too far away...possibly colorado? anyway, we were just looking to see if anyone had any good camping experiences at any place in the midwest. we would pry be there for about a week and we'r not looking to spend tons of money....thanks!!
 
u could try turkeyrun state park in parke county in indiana or shade state park in indiana ive camped in both area and has nice trails and campsite
not sure if shade state park is spelled right couldnt find website but its located not far from turkeyrun state park
