Religious people: why should geography choose your religion?

I've never understood why people simply accept the religion they are given as children. In the USA, most people are Christian and many of those people are CONVINCED that their religion is correct (without necessarily studying other religions).

If you were born in India, you'd be more likely to be SURE that Hinduism is correct.
If you were born in Saudi Arabia, you'd be POSITIVE that Islam is the only true religion.

So I ask religious people: if you were born somewhere else in the world, would you still have chosen your present religion? Christians: if you were born in a Muslim nation, to Muslim parents, would you still have chosen Christianity?
