Hi, i just found the program COMODO internet security recently and thought i'll give it a shot because security programs i've used in the past have let me down ie keep causing blue screens every 2-3 times i switch on my pc.

I've turned windows firewall off as COMODO has a firewall built in but should i turn off windows defender aswell? I've heard that 2 programs doing the same thing can conflict so was just wondering if these 2 programs will conflict or not. (I formatted my PC today so can't tell yet, wanna know in advance before i cause further harm to my pc)

My question is whether i should just use COMODO internet security ONLY or whether i should use windows defender aswell?

Thank you for taking time out to answer my question.

I use Comodo IS on a Vista laptop and have found it doesn't conflict with defender; my only beef with Comodo is the Defense+ tool which personally I don't like. As Defender is an antispyware tool, it will complement the protection you get from Comodo IS.

You don't need to turn off Windows Defender, however i would just recommend you using COMODO Firewall&Defense + and not the AntiVirus part since its a new and not the best( but then again with defense + is a virus manages to get through Defense + will alert you and u can stop the virus dead in its track.

Set Defense + to Training Mode For about 1 week and use the PC as normal....right click the COMODO Icon and select configuration then Proactive Security.
* When you get alerts from COMODO please read them carefully.
* You would get alerts mostly if you are installing/updating programs.
* When installing new programs/updating you can set defense + to "installation mode" when you are done change it back to "previous mode".
