shazam on second generation ipod touch?

Hello,
I have a second generation(8gb) ipod touch. I am trying to get shazam to work. Do I have to buy the headphones with a microphone or can I do it another way (like hook it up to speakers or something).
If there is anyway you know please share it with me.

You have to buy the earphones with the mic in them. That way shazam can hear the song and identify it. I dont think you can hook it up to speakers. but even if you could you would have to buy a cable which would probably be about $30. Or you can just buy earphones with a mic for $30. So just buy the erphone and mic combo. Hope I helped and good luck
