Should I stay on deck 2 when I go on my cruise?

We are going on a cruise aboard the Carnival Dream in January 2012 and plan on staying in a Deluxe Ocean view room. It has a few amenities that the regular Ocean Views don't have (bathtub, much bigger). However, those rooms are only available on deck 1 or deck 2 (Riviera or main). Since these rooms are at the bottom of the ship, are they noisy or any different? I've heard some bad reviews of rooms on these decks and just want to know if we should stay in one.
